Hi, I’m Dr. Ramon Goings,


A tenured college professor, researcher of over 60 publications, and founder of Done Dissertation®, a dissertation consulting firm.

After experiencing my own dissertation struggles while obtaining my Doctor of Education degree in urban educational leadership from Morgan State University, and seeing my own students struggle, I knew there had to be a better way. Today, using The Done Dissertation, I’ve made it my mission to help doctoral students and doctoral programs break down the dissertation process into manageable pieces so that doctoral students can finish their dissertations in one year (or less). Additionally, I have supported doctoral programs nationwide to provide a more relevant and expedited process for their doctoral students.

I have had the opportunity to help over 100 doctoral students navigate the dissertation process and support their journeys to become college professors, K-12/higher education administrators, and consultants.

Hi, I’m Mrs. Renee Goings,

As Co-Owner and Director of Operations, I bring my expertise to Done Dissertation® to ensure our Velocity clients receive nothing short of top-tier service, starting with our program consultation calls, which I personally conduct.

My previous role as a Vice President for a national insurance broker instilled in me a results-driven approach, which I now leverage to help you strategize, overcome hurdles, and efficiently execute your dissertation plan. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Lynchburg, I'm passionate about providing the foundational support needed to help you achieve your goal of dissertation completion and contribute to Done Dissertation's reputation as the premier resource for doctoral students.

Done Dissertation Curriculum

Our curriculum delivered via on-demand video content will walk you through all  aspects of the dissertation process from  selecting committee members to understanding how to write your literature review.


Weekly Dissertation Coaching Calls

Dr. Goings and the Done Dissertation coaching team hosts weekly office hours for group members to discuss questions related to their dissertation process. You will leave each session with a sense of clarity on the actions needed to complete your dissertation.


Written & Video Feedback on Dissertation

Program participants can get written feedback one time on each dissertation chapter from the Done Dissertation Coaching Staff. Writing feedback is delivered via both written feedback as well as a video with your coach explaining the feedback provided. 


Private Members Only Facebook Community

Program participants will have access to a members only Facebook community to connect with like-minded scholars for support and accountability.


1:1 Defense Prep Session

Program participants will have a 45 minute dissertation defense session (proposal or final defense) with a coach. This session will prepare participants for their defense and they will receive feedback on their presentation, presentation materials and how they handled the Q&A from the coach.


Monthly Professional Development

Program participants can participate in monthly professional development sessions designed to prepare program participants for life after the defense. Past topics have included writing for publication, securing media opportunities as a research, and how to start a consulting business based on your dissertation research.


Professional Dissertation Editing

We provide you with one comprehensive dissertation edit to ensure your dissertation meets academic standards by addressing structure, flow, grammar, syntax, citations, and formatting and alignment with your institution’s requirements.


Strategic Monthly Coaching Call

A focused 30-minute check-in monthly call with the Velocity Program Leadership Team designed to help you stay aligned, accountable, and on track with your goals developed during your onboarding call.
